Spivak Lipton represents individual employees and unions in all areas of labor and employment law, and serves as counsel to public and private sector employee benefit funds. In all practice areas, we represent our clients in federal and state court, arbitrations, and mediations, and before administrative agencies, such as the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the New York State Division of Human Rights. Since 1989, we have continued to represent various guilds and unions in the entertainment field (e.g., performers, stagehands, writers, scenic artists, costume designers, make-up artists, ticket sellers, ushers) as well as unions in industries as diverse as construction, transportation, legal services and the public sector; individuals and classes of employees in wage and hour cases; and multiemployer and single employer benefit funds.
Spivak Lipton is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to diversity in hiring, and foster a collegial, inclusive, and supportive workplace.
A law clerk at our firm would participate in all aspects of the firm’s work, subject to the needs of the office. We expect that the clerk’s work would include legal research and writing, and it may include assisting with discovery and filings in litigation, and attending and assisting in preparation for arbitrations, negotiations, and court appearances.
If public health circumstances permit it, the clerk will work on site in our offices. If they do not, the clerk will work remotely or on a hybrid remote/in-office basis.
