Egality Law LLP is a busy, small firm in Los Angeles, California, that represents labor unions and employees, predominantly teachers and teachers’ unions.  We are looking for
an associate attorney with 0-2 years’ experience to assist with our robust caseload of court actions and administrative hearings. The associate’s duties will include communicating with clients and witnesses; drafting and responding to discovery; performing legal research; drafting briefs, pleadings, and correspondence; client advocacy; and assisting with
hearings.  We seek a smart, motivated, dedicated, hard-working person who is a quick study, can work independently, and is enthusiastic about the kind of work we do. Because we are a busy small firm, there are many opportunities for associates to assume responsibility for clients and projects as soon as they are ready and comfortable doing so.

Required Qualifications:

• Exemplary legal research and writing skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to learn quickly and follow directions
• Strong work ethic
• Patience and tact in communicating with challenging people
• Commitment to the labor movement and employee rights
• California Bar Admission or intent to take the July 2025 California Bar Exam

Preferred Qualifications:

• Conversational Spanish
• Past experience with a labor union or public interest organization
• Judicial Clerkship/Externship, Law Review
