Messing Adam & Jasmine LLP (Two Positions)
MAJ seeks two associates with 2 to 6 years experience to join the firm’s boutique practice with a primary focus representing public safety and public sector labor unions. We also represent individuals in discipline matters, representation at Public Employment Relations Board and State Personnel Board, Industrial Disability Retirement applications and appeals, and grievances. These are hybrid in-person/remote positions. However, local travel will be required in and around Northern and Central California. Job duties include providing general and legal advice to the firm’s diverse union clients; attending client meetings; representing members in administrative interviews, and at grievance and arbitration hearings; handling litigation in state and federal courts; and representing individuals before other labor tribunals.
Labor and/or litigation experience will be a plus. The ideal candidate would have strong writing and oral presentation skills, good attention to detail, excellent judgment, and be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently, as well as working as part of a team.
Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in California. Candidates who are dually licensed in California and Nevada encouraged.

The salary range for associate attorneys in the experience range sought is between $115,000 and $142,000 annually, depending on experience. Associate attorneys are also eligible for formulaic and discretionary annual bonuses, employer-paid retirement contributions, and paid vacation and sick days.
