Messing Adam Jasmine & Shore LLP (MAJS) is expanding its Industrial Disability Retirement practice and seeks an associate attorney with 2 to 6 years of experience to play a central role in this growing and highly impactful area of the firm.

This position is ideal for an attorney who wants to build deep expertise in representing public safety employees in Industrial Disability Retirement (IDR) applications and appeals, while working within a broader labor and employment practice that is actively growing across California and the West. This is a hybrid in-person/remote position, with required local travel throughout Northern and Central California.

What you’ll do:

• Handle Industrial Disability Retirement applications and appeals from intake through resolution
• Advise clients on medical, employment, and retirement-related issues
• Draft persuasive written submissions and represent clients at administrative hearings
• Work closely with medical experts and analyze complex medical records
• Collaborate with other attorneys on related labor and employment matters

What we’re looking for:

• 2–6 years of experience (IDR, administrative law, labor/employment, or litigation experience strongly preferred)
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and client-communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing complex records
• Initiative, curiosity, and the desire to grow with an expanding practice
• Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in California. Dual California/Nevada licensure is encouraged.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range: $120,000–$150,000, depending on experience, plus formulaic and discretionary bonuses, employer-paid retirement contributions, and paid vacation and sick leave.
