Our firm represents clients in civil rights, labor, and employment disputes, as well as in criminal and civil appeals. We litigate Section 1983 cases concerning police misconduct and wrongful convictions, and advocate on behalf of working people who have faced employment discrimination, harassment, and other mistreatment on the job.
Patterson Harkavy is also nationally known for its longstanding commitment to representing labor unions in the South—whether on the picket line, before the National Labor Relations Board, or in federal court.
We are currently accepting applications from 2L law students for our 2026 summer associate program. Summer associates will have the opportunity to work on a range of cases in our diverse practice areas. Assignments will include substantive work and participation in litigation activities. Past associates have drafted briefs and motions, interviewed clients and witnesses in case investigations, and attended depositions, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
The ideal candidate has strong research and writing skills, and a demonstrated commitment to public interest work.
