Slevin & Hart, P.C., a law firm with a specialized practice focusing exclusively on employee benefits, seeks an experienced compliance associate to join its employee benefits practice. With particular expertise in representing all types of Taft-Hartley multiemployer benefit plans, we take pride in the fact that the majority of our work is for the ultimate benefit of union-represented workers across the United States.  The firm’s lawyers provide guidance on numerous employee benefit issues related to plan compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Our lawyers also draft and review plan documents including policies and procedures that address a variety of issues and they negotiate a wide range of service provider contracts, including sophisticated agreements with investment managers. Our lawyers interact regularly with the DOL and IRS on plan audit and plan correction issues and maintain close working relationships with PBGC. We are one of the few firms whose employee benefits practice is not a department within the firm – the firm’s entire mission is to represent employee benefit plans.

The position provides the opportunity to work in a collegial environment and tackle employee benefit issues with a team-oriented approach, working side-by-side with experienced employee benefit attorneys. The position also offers the possibility of significant client contact and management of client work. Candidates interested in applying for the compliance associate position should have at least two (2) years of experience, including demonstrated experience with employee benefit plan issues arising under ERISA. Candidates should have exemplary writing and analytical skills, a strong academic background and DC bar membership or eligibility to waive into the DC bar. The salary range for this position is $155,000 – $220,000 depending on the candidate’s level of experience in this field and law school graduation date. Slevin & Hart, P.C. is an equal opportunity employer and invites applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
