Litigation Associate (ERISA)

Slevin & Hart, P.C., with offices in Washington, D.C. and New York, NY, is a highly specialized law firm whose core business is the representation of Taft-Hartley multiemployer benefits funds. We are one of the few firms whose employee benefits practice is not a department within the firm – the firm’s entire mission is to represent employee benefits plans and Taft-Hartley multiemployer plans, in particular.

We are seeking a litigation associate to join our ERISA practice. This position provides the opportunity to work with a number of principals and be exposed to a wide variety of ERISA issues in a fast-paced environment. Candidates applying for the litigation associate position should have at least two years of experience representing Taft-Hartley trust funds in federal court, with demonstrated experience in delinquent contribution collection work. The litigation associate will have significant case-handling responsibilities and direct client interaction and will be involved in all phases of litigation including preparing demands, negotiation, writing briefs, drafting motions, engaging in discovery, document collection and review, and preparing for trial. Candidates should have exemplary writing and analytical skills, a strong academic background, and D.C. Bar membership or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar.

The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $200,000 depending on the candidate’s level of experience in this field and years of legal practice since law school graduation.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. Following successful completion of the firm’s 90-day introductory period, attorneys are eligible to participate in the firm’s hybrid work arrangement.
