STULBERG & WALSH, LLP is a New York City-based labor, employment and disability rights law boutique with a vibrant practice in public/private sector, domestic/cross-border workplace matters. Founded 40 years ago, we represent labor unions, executives, professionals, federal/state/city civil servants, hourly employees, employee benefit funds, and disability rights organizations.
In our labor practice, we represent unions in collective bargaining, grievance-arbitration, responsible contracting, administrative advocacy, and judicial litigation. In our employment practice, we represent employees, from shop floors to C-suites, in whistleblower, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodation, disability income, breach of contract, restrictive covenant, wage and hour, licensing, and other disputes. We have a challenging docket of complex civil litigation, including a significant appellate practice, with recent precedential victories at SCOTUS and the Federal Circuit. We also serve as co-class counsel for enforcement of New York City’s ADA curb ramp settlement.
We seek two talented attorneys with experience in either union-side labor law or plaintiff-side employment law, and a desire to practice in both areas.
Associate Attorney: This position requires 2-6 years’ experience representing labor unions or plaintiffs in employment matters. Applicants will take on significant responsibility, including conducting client intakes; preparing administrative charges and court pleadings; preparing discovery demands and deposition questions; managing discovery; drafting and responding to motions; engaging in mediations; negotiating settlements; and litigating in arbitrations, administrative hearings, and at trial. Applicants should have strong analytical, writing, research, investigation and advocacy skills. The salary range for this position is $100-$125k base salary based on experience, with eligibility for bonuses.
Senior Attorney: This position requires 7 or more years’ experience in a relevant practice area and contemplates a candidate interested in pursuing a Partnership or other Senior-level relationship with the Firm. This candidate must have significant experience managing a case load, representing plaintiffs and/or Unions, and litigating in state and federal court. The ideal candidate will have established client relationships or experience developing business, but this is not a requirement. This position is for an experienced attorney who would like to join forces with like-minded, committed plaintiffs/union-side lawyers in an established practice. The salary range for this position is $125-$150k+, depending on experience and the nature of the arrangement.
