Associate Attorney

Stulberg & Walsh, LLP is a New York City-based labor, employment and disability rights law boutique with a vibrant practice in public/private and domestic/cross-border workplace matters. Founded 40 years ago, we represent labor unions, executives, professionals, federal, state and municipal civil servants, hourly employees, employee benefit funds, and disability rights organizations.

In our labor practice, we represent unions in collective bargaining, grievance-arbitration, responsible contracting disputes, administrative proceedings, and judicial litigation.

In our employment practice, we represent employees, from shop floors to C-suites, in whistleblower, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodation, disability income, employment/transition/separation/secondment agreements, breach of contract, restrictive covenant, wage and hour, licensing, and other disputes. 

We also have a robust docket of complex civil litigation, including a significant appellate practice, with recent precedential victories at SCOTUS and the Federal Circuit. We also serve as co-class counsel for enforcement of New York City's ADA curb ramp settlement.

We seek talented attorneys with experience in either union-side labor law or plaintiff-side employment law, and a desire to practice in both areas.

This position requires 3-6 years' experience representing labor unions or employees. Applicants will take on significant responsibility, including conducting client intakes; preparing administrative charges and court complaints; preparing discovery demands and managing discovery; drafting and responding to motions; negotiating settlements and conducting mediations; and litigating in arbitrations, administrative hearings, and at trial. Applicants should have strong analytical, writing, research, investigation and advocacy skills. The salary range for this position is $100-$125k base salary based on experience, with eligibility for bonuses.
