Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with at least one year of experience to join our team across our Sacramento, Los Angeles, or Emeryville offices. This role focuses exclusively on our traditional labor and litigation matters. This position offers an exciting opportunity for significant case-handling responsibilities and direct client interaction, allowing you to step into courtrooms and administrative hearings to advocate for workers. 

Responsibilities 

  • Handle all stages of litigation, with an emphasis on wage and hour class actions, as well as harassment and discrimination litigation.
  • Represent Unions in grievance arbitration hearings and before various administrative agencies, such as the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB).
  • Provide strategic, general, and legal advice to the firm’s diverse Union clients, including union representatives and officers.
  • Empower workers on the ground by giving comprehensive Union staff and steward trainings.

Qualifications 

  • 1+ years of relevant litigation experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment and fierce dedication to the labor movement and justice for working people.
  • Exemplary research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and possesses strong time management skills. A motivated self-starter with superb judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Admission to the California bar and in good standing is required.
  • Preferred (Not Required): Judicial clerkship experience, real estate experience, or Spanish language skills are highly desirable.

WRR firmly believes in striving for work-life balance for our advocates. Please note that this position may require occasional evening or weekend work depending on client events or needs. WRR supports a hybrid working environment with about 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.

  • Salary: Paid on a step scale based on years of relevant experience, ranging from $107,000.00 to $148,000.00, plus eligibility for bonuses.
