Litigation Associate (3–5 Years) - New York City

Friedman & Anspach is a six-attorney New York City litigation firm focused on union-side labor law and ERISA matters. We represent labor unions and the trustees of multiemployer pension and health funds in a wide range of matters, including federal court litigation.

We are seeking a litigation associate with 3–5 years of experience to join our practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage federal court litigation from early stages through resolution
• Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss and for summary judgment
• Manage complex discovery and take/defend depositions
• Represent clients in arbitrations and administrative proceedings
• Advise union clients and employee benefit funds

Qualifications

• 3 – 5 years of hands-on litigation experience, including in federal court
• Experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions under the FRCP
• Strong writing and analytical skills
• Admission to the New York Bar

Preferred (Not Required)

• ERISA or labor/employment experience
• Candidates with strong federal court litigation experience who are interested in developing expertise in this area are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

• $130,000–$160,000, based on experience
• Fully paid health insurance (including dental)
