Associate (1 Year) – New York City

Friedman & Anspach is a six-attorney firm in New York City, with a focus on union-side labor law and ERISA. We represent labor unions and the trustees of multiemployer pension and health funds in a wide range of matters, including federal court litigation and arbitrations. 

We are seeking an associate with at least one year of experience to join our practice. 

Responsibilities 

• Advise unions and employee benefit funds 
• Represent unions in arbitrations and NLRB proceedings, and represent benefit funds in federal court litigation and arbitrations
• Represent workers through a union legal services plan (including landlord-tenant, matrimonial, immigration, etc.) 

Qualifications

• ERISA or labor law/employment law background 
• Strong research and writing skills 
• Interest in developing expertise in federal court litigation, especially in ERISA cases 
• Admission to the New York Bar 

Compensation & Benefits 

• $100,000–$110,000, based on experience 
• Fully-paid health insurance (including dental)
