Messing Adam Jasmine & Shore LLP (MAJS) is a growing, statewide labor law firm seeking an associate attorney with 2 to 6 years of experience to join our expanding practice representing public safety and public-sector labor unions.
This is an exciting moment at MAJS. Our firm is adding attorneys, expanding geographically, and deepening our practice areas, while continuing to deliver high-quality, hands-on representation to union clients across California. Associates at MAJS are trusted with meaningful responsibility and real client contact from day one.
Our practice spans the full range of labor and employment work—collective bargaining, strategic advising, administrative litigation, and courtroom advocacy—as well as representation of individual employees in discipline matters, grievances, and proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Board and State Personnel Board. This is a hybrid in-person/remote position, with required local travel throughout Northern and Central California.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as a key advisor to union clients on labor and employment issues
- Attend and participate in client and membership meetings
- Represent employees in administrative interviews, grievance and arbitration hearings
- Handle matters in state and federal court
- Appear before labor and employment tribunals
What we’re looking for:
- 2–6 years of labor, employment, and/or litigation experience
- Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and initiative
- Comfort working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in California. Dual California/Nevada licensure is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary range: $120,000–$150,000, depending on experience, plus formulaic and discretionary bonuses, employer-paid retirement contributions, and paid vacation and sick leave.
