Tedesco Law Group in Portland, Oregon, is hiring an associate attorney. We are a growing firm that has represented labor unions and their members in the Pacific Northwest for over 40 years. We represent labor unions in nearly every aspect of labor relations and internal governance. Our attorneys provide day-to-day legal counsel, negotiate contracts, represent unions in grievance and interest arbitrations, and file and litigate representation cases and unfair labor practice proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and its public sector counterparts. We pride ourselves in providing high quality, prompt, and cost-effective representation to our clients.

Candidates should have at least one year of experience as a labor lawyer, but we also welcome applications from recent law school graduates, judicial law clerks, and attorneys seeking lateral positions who have. demonstrable commitment to the labor movement or experience advocating for workers.

Candidates should have a strong work history, good academic credentials, and excellent oral and written communication skills. They should have work references that support their ability to work independently and to be accountable for their projects and time. Candidates must be professional and capable of working with clients from diverse backgrounds who work in a wide variety of jobs, exercising independent judgment while knowing when to seek guidance. We have a hybrid work environment. Our firm has a traditional office and highly skilled paralegal support, but with the exception of occasional firm and client meetings, remote work is acceptable and encouraged. Associates are expected to work autonomously and to balance a number of different matters without a high degree of supervision. It is important that candidates be self-starters and able to handle stressful situations.

Associates must be licensed in Oregon or have the ability to obtain admission by reciprocity in Oregon within six months of hire. Because we have clients in different parts of Oregon and other states, candidates must be willing to travel for work when needed. Such travel would generally occur with notice far in advance.

TLG is an equal opportunity employer committed to building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working environment. We believe that diversity benefits and enriches the development of all, and we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.

Salary is competitive but depends on your level of experience. There are opportunities for growth. Benefits include excellent medical/dental/vision insurance, paid time off, and a retirement plan. To apply, please send a cover letter, resume, and writing sample to Tammy Puri, our office manager and legal aid, at tammy@tlglabor.com.

We will accept applications until the position is filled, but to ensure that you receive consideration, please submit your application by January 15, 2026.
